  • SPL jumps up to number 383 in BS 1000 Giants !

    Surya Pharmaceutical Limited (SPL), is now ranked 383 in the prestigious Business Standard 1000 Giants list for 2010. In 2009, the Company was ranked 500 in the BS list whereas in the year 2010, it jumped up to capture rank 383 by registering a rapid growth. The BS 1000 list is compiled on the basis of Net Sales of a company during the mentioned fiscal year. SPL registered Net Sales of Rs 1134.13 crores in 2010 thereby posting an increase of 56.9% in its sales.The BS Industry Wise Performance SPL has ranked 331 in the Pharmaceuticals sector based on Standalone Net sales for fiscal year 2010!
  • SHL acquires Medimart

    VIVA, the Pharmacy Retail Brand of Surya Healthcare Ltd. has added 47 more pharmacy stores to its kitty. The Company has acquired one of the leading pharmacy retail chains of South India-Medimart.The acquisition brings along with it 47 Medimart stores located all over the state of Andhra Pradesh.

  • The prestigious Inc Magazine has ranked Surya Pharmaceutical Limited at the 77th rank among the top 500 best performing enterprises in India. The experts at the magazine followed a weighted analysis of several parameters, annualized for comparison. These included- Revenue Growth, Net Income Growth, Profitability and returns to evaluate performance. The ranking model takes into account net sales, operating profits and profit after tax.
  • Economic Times, the foremost business daily of India has ranked Surya Pharmaceutical Limited as one among top ET 500 companies. Per the ranking Surya has entered the top league in the Indian Industry scene. According to the latest survey published by Economic Times, Surya has ranked 417th out of the top ET 500 companies. ET 500 is all about India Inc's biggest and the best, and the passion to grow and excel has put the Company in a different league. Surya is in this list ,as its growth over the past three years has been dramatic, both through the organic and inorganic route, which prompted ET to highlight this feat. The survey calculated the cummulative annualised growth rate (CAGR) over the last three years for all ET 500 companies at the level of revenues, PBDIT and net profit. The weighted average of these growth rates was considered for ranking the companies.
  • Business Standard, a name to reckon with, amongst the reputed financial papers of the country credits Surya's phenomenal growth. It says- "Surya Pharmaceutical Limited, with a turnover of Rs 1,130 crores, has emerged as one of the fastest growing, listed companies in the country. We are extremely excited about this collaboration and are looking forward to raising our profile further with this venture."
SPL ranks 398 in the prestigious FORTUNE India 500 list & Ranked no: 20 in Indian Pharmaceutical Sector

SPL has ranked 398 in the prestigious FORTUNE India 500 list! The Fortune India 500 list features India`s LARGEST CORPORATIONS!

Not only that, it outranked Pharmaceutical giants like Aventis Pharma, Alembic, Arch Pharmalabs and Ankur Drugs to climb to number 20 in the top Drugs & Pharmaceuticals companies of India!

Companies in the Fortune 500 list are ranked on the parameters of both Revenue & Income, they are ranked by their latest annual audited total income for the financial year ending on or before June 30, 2010. The Total Income includes Core Operating Income ( Net sales) plus other Extraordinary Income. Audited results declared before October 31st, 2010 have been used for the calculations. The numbers have been sourced from two corporate databases- the Centre for Monitoring of Indian Economies Prowess and Capitaline Plus by Capital Market Publishers India.

SPL in the Acquisition Mode!

After demonstrating astounding business growth by ranking in the top Fortune 500 companies in India, the 20th largest Pharmaceutical firm in India as well as one of ET 500 companies recently, Surya Pharmaceutical Limited (SPL), is on its march to rapid glory via massive national and international expansion.

The Company has acquired the US-based Over-the-Counter (OTC) analgesic drug brand Activon for $ 22 million (Rs 99.52 crore). The deal has provided SPL the established US market of Activon and global marketing rights. The brand comes with the acquisition of Ameshire Investment Corp USA.

Activon is a leading OTC analgesic brand in the topical analgesic category in the US market. It is used to provide relief of joint and muscle pain associated with arthritis, backache, strains, bruises and sprains. Through the acquisition, the Company also adds to its portfolio brands namely Preferon, First On and Renewin. It would also have global marketing rights for Head On, another leading brand (except USA).

The acquisition provides SPL with a strategic competitive advantage to market our products in US through established market networking channels that include leading retailers like Walmart, Walgreen, CVS, Rite Aid etc. This also provides an opportunity to launch our OTC / FMCG products in US markets.

 

With the latest developments the shares of the company have shot up by 5.73% at the BSE.
